Children's  ministries

children's ministries

Psalm 127:3 Children are indeed a heritage from the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Truly, our children are our greatest treasure and we take these ministries seriously. Our mission is provide a safe, nurturing environment for our children so that they may be able to hear and receive the love of God. Volunteering in any of the ministries shown on this page require a background check and training in child abuse prevention. Please contact Pastor Thaddeus or Pastor Carl if you are interested in volunteering.

Children's Church

Picture
Children's Church meets weekly on Sunday mornings during the preaching portion of the regular service. The mission of Children's Church is to equip children with age-appropriate teaching and application of God's word. It also encourages the development of spiritual gifts among the children in the areas of prayer, worship, and even preaching!
12th Street is blessed to have committed, talented teachers and leaders for Children's Church.

Awana

Picture
12th Street Awana meets every Wednesday night from 6-7:30 September - April. The mission of Awana is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus Christ and to train them to serve Him. The focus of the program is scripture memory and the children also enjoy games, singing, and a whole group lesson. Awana begins as early as preschool (potty trained) and continues through 5th grade. 6th graders may choose to stay for an additional year of Awana or transition up to youth group. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please seek out Deacon Caleb Stout.

Each July, 12th Street Baptist Church comes together to host an amazing five day adventure for the community. Over 70 adult and teen volunteers work together for the common goal of sharing the gospel and building the faith in a fun way for children and families. The program is high energy, professionally run, and enthusiastically embraced by both volunteers and participants. Serving in this ministry is an awesome opportunity to get to know people at church. Please join us if you can! If you would like to help, contact Pastor Thaddeus Stout or Sister Angie Layton.
