Dr. Thaddeus Stout - Senior pastor
Let me introduce myself. My name is Thaddeus Stout. I love God's Word and I love God's people. God has called me to passionately preach His Word.
Before my senior year in college I married the love of my life Rachel. She is definitely my better half. She is a talented musician and singer who just so happens to teach Math to High School students. She adds dimensions to the ministry that make our partnership deep and rich. 12th Street Baptist Church is definitely blessed to have her.
The most important ministry in my life is my family. We are blessed with three beautiful daughters: Cayla Marie, Jenna Lynn, and Leah Ann. As a family we enjoy camping, skiing, bowling, softball, golf, and just spending time together. I love being a father; my home is a source of strength and solitude.
I have a master's degree in counseling and a Th.D (which is a doctorate of theology). I have served at two different churches as an assistant/youth pastor. Most recently, before joining 12th Street, I was a senior pastor in Edwardsburg, Michigan for nine years. Coming to Kalamazoo is exciting for my family and me. Joining with 12th Street Baptist Church was an extraordinary opportunity. The building is magnificent, the people are friendly, and there is a deep desire to follow God's Word.
I would like to personally invite you to come see for yourself what a special Church this is.

carl wellborn - connections Pastor
Carl Wellborn Jr joyfully serves as the Connections Pastor and assists Dr. Thaddeus Stout in equipping the beloved saints of 12th Street Baptist Church for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ.(Ephesians 4:11-16).
The progressive realization of an identity in Christ Jesus has shaped every experience of Carl's life since first receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and savior at the age of 12 (2001). Having been raised by Carl Sr. and Marla Wellborn in a God fearing home in Detroit, mentored by Bob Tissot and Rick Larman at the highly impactful ministry of Bair Lake Bible Camp, and educated at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Behavioral Sciences, Carl has developed a love for people and experience in fostering meaningful connections with people of various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds within the community of Christ.
As the inherent brokenness and hurt of this world daily increases, Carl rejoices all the more regarding the good news that Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners; bringing healing to the broken, freedom to the bound, and life to the dead; exchanging beauty (righteousness) for ashes (unrighteousness). He believes God's promise that even the gates of Hell won't prevail against His Church.
Carl Wellborn Jr is a husband to the prayer warrior, Emily, a father to Evelyn (2013) and Carl lll (2015), and an adopted son of the Living God through Jesus Christ the Lord.
